Festival de Jerez 2007 gets up close to children
'Malgama, circontemporáneo y compás' by Varuma Teatro

Festival de Jerez 2007 gets up close to children. In its eleventh edition, the flamenco dancing and Spanish dance event has scheduled two shows aimed at children’s audiences: ‘Las medias de los flamencos’ by the company La Calabaza Danza-Teatro and ‘Malgama, circontemporáneo y compás’ by Varuma Teatro. The shows will take place at the Teatro de Guadalcacín in two series. The first one, aimed at schoolchildren, will be staged February 26th to March 1st with ‘Las medias de los flamencos’; and March 6th to 8th with ‘Malgama, circontemporáneo y compás’, with matinées at 10:30 a.m. The second one, ‘Flamenco en familia’, is scheduled for children accompanied by their parents on February 28th with ‘Las medias de los flamencos’ and on March 7th with ‘Malgama’ in late-afternoon performances at 5:00 p.m. With this children’s bill, the festival has broadened its aims, hitherto covered by the wide offer of baile courses, didactic shows, round-tables and other related activities.
