Jerez Puro wins the 2005 Jerez Festival's Audience Prize. The new flamenco show by María del Mar Moreno and Antonio Malena received the top score in its premiere from those attending the ninth edition of the Jerez Festival. Jerez Puro - in which guest artists such as Moraíto Chico, Luis el Zambo and Juana la del Pipa take part - got seventy percent of the votes awarding an 'A' (ten out of ten), which placed it well above other shows such as ‘El Loco’ by the Spanish National Ballet, ‘A cuatro voces’ by Eva Yerbabuena and ‘Carmen, Carmela’ by Antonio Canales. The award, organized by the daily newspaper "Diario de Jerez", means great satisfaction for the bailaora, since it is “the best prize there can be; that which the audience gives you who goes to see you and pays for their tickets”.
