Sara
Baras, Paco de Lucía and Eva Yerbabuena fly the flag
for flamenco at the 2004 Festival de Música de Jimena de
la Frontera. The town of Jimena de la Frontera, situated
inland from Gibraltar in the province of Cadiz, has three flamenco
heavyweights on the bill this year: guitarist Paco
de Lucía (13th July), and bailaoras Sara Baras (17th
July) and Eva
Yerbabuena (16th July), who'll perform at the Andrés
Sarriá Football Stadium. In addition, on 14th July on the
Llano de la Victoria stage, Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent and Chano
Domínguez, among others, will give a live rendition of
the album ‘10
de Paco’, a tribute to the legendary guitarist from
neighboring Algeciras, released on the Nuevos Medios label in
1995. This fourth edition of the event also features artists from
other genres, including Joan Manuel Serrat, Javier Ruibal and
Pasión Vega.
