2011 Flamenco June fulls Seville of dance, guitar and singing. Bienal de Flamenco in odd years, promotes some of the flamenco programs that, in spring and summer, dot the cultural agenda of the city. There are four events supported by the Festival. From June 9th to 12th at the Teatro Alameda XI Larachí Flamenca is held, bringing together young talents like Antoñete, Moi de Morón, Guadalupe Torres and Belén López, among others. The VII Festival Flamenco de Sevilla will take place on June 16th at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, with La Macanita, Argentina and Javier Barón starring the schedule. The appointment with the XXXVI La Fragua Festival will be on June 17th at the Cortijo del Cuarto in Bellavista, offering performances by artists such as La Tana, Sonia Miranda and Milagros Mengíbar, among others. And finally, coinciding with the Music Day, on June 21st, the agenda outlines the 8th Festival of Young Flamencos, which will stage the winners of the Federation of Peñas de Sevilla’s Contest for Young Flamencos, plus Ramón Amador on guitar, Iván González on vocals and Mary Távora dancing. The Seville’s Flamenco Biennial is working on its sixteenth edition that, dedicated to the dance, will be held from September 7th to October 6th 2012 under the title ‘In body and soul’.
