Lola Greco
Lola
Greco stars in the version of ‘El amor brujo’
put together by Rafael Amargo. From September 9th to
28th, 2008, the Madrilenian dancer will put herself in the shoes
of ‘Candela’ at the Teatro Alcázar in Madrid.
She plays the lead role in the version of Manuel de Falla’s
classic which Rafael
Amargo conceived in an assignment by San Sebastián’s
Quincena Musical 2003. But in this revival, the Granada-born
bailaor does not perform, although he does take care of both
the directing and the choreography. The role of the ‘Gypsy’
is played by dancer José Greco, who is joined by nine
dancers in the dance corps and actress Pepa Charro performing
the texts from the libretto by Martínez Sierra. The sound
section is completed with Edith Salazar as musical and vocal
director, and with the original score recorded for the occasion
by the Amadeo Vives Classical Orchestra. The contemporary-style
stage design and wardrobe are by Roger Salas, who is joined
in the credits by Sergio Spinelli in the lighting design.
