Vicente Amigo, Niño de Pura and José Antonio Rodríguez.
From May 2nd to 4th, 2008, the English capital will once again
experience flamenco, but this time shining the spotlight exclusively
on the six-strings. Three guitarists will display the vitality
of toque on today’s music scene at the alternative stage
complex of Royal Festival Hall. On May 2nd, Sevillian Niño
de Pura will offer his latest album ‘Niño de
Pura’ live. The following day, one of today’s top
flamenco figures, Vicente
Amigo, will perform the contents of his album ‘Un
momento en el sonido’ in a sextet. The series is completed
by the also Córdoba-born José
Antonio Rodríguez with the recital ‘...en el
tiempo’, for which he’ll have special guests such
as bailaora Rosario Toledo and cantaor Rafael de Utrera. The
guitar series comes to complete the flamenco agenda in London,
which had its first date last March at Sadler’s Wells
with Flamenco Festival London 2008.
