Chano Domínguez and Martirio dress up ‘Acoplados’. The Cádiz-born pianist and the heterodox singer premiered last Tuesday 29th June, 2004 at Teatro Español in Madrid their new album, where they blend Spanish folk song, jazz music and flamenco rythms. Both artists were accompanied by bass player Mario Rossy, percussionist Guillermo McGill, saxophonist Bob Sands and trumpetist Matthew Simon. Singer Chavela Vargas and moviemaker Pedro Almodóvar were some of the famous stars assisting to the concert. The audience welcomed with a stand-up ovation this musical proposal that re-adapts classical songs such as ‘Torre de arena’, ‘Dicen’ o ‘La bien pagá’.
