Málaga
el Flamenco 2007. Fuensanta la Moneta, ‘De entre la luna
y los hombres’. The Teatro de Las Lagunas in
Mijas was the stage chosen for the world premiere of Entre la
luna y los hombres, the first show by one of the most international
bailaoras on today’s flamenco scene: Fuensanta
la Moneta. The Granada-born artist tackled a show
based on poems by two women from her same region: poetesses
Ángeles Mora and Teresa Gómez. A women’s
show, performed by women and with a pronounced social storyline.
Between malagueñas, cantes abandolaos, transitions with
guajiras and farrucas and an ending with soleares and seguiriyas,
La Moneta staged the diverse roles women play in society: the
happiness of the successful, independent woman and the uneasiness
of those who watch their dreams wither away without being able
to make them come true. Accompanying La Moneta in her most experimental
choreography to date (staged even in the costumes created and
shown off for the occasion by Quetezurzan Workshop), the cante
by Málaga-born Eva
Durán hatched as the voice of feminine conscience.
A genuine fortune of feminine feelings experienced first-hand
and arising from her own conscience. Together with them, there
were several men up on stage: Miguel and Paco Iglesias on guitar,
Javier Carrasco on percussion and El Eléctrico, together
with Torombo, on compás.
