Enrique Morente (Photo: Daniel Muñoz)

Enrique Morente sings with Sonic Youth at Valencia's Heineken Green Space. The Granada-born cantaor once again makes flamenco history. Nearly ten years after ‘Omega’, the experience he shared with the group Lagartija Nick, he holds out a hand to rock music once more. Now he does so in grand fashion, with the New York band Sonic Youth at the recently inaugurated Heineken Greenspace located in the harbor area of Valencia. The concert, scheduled for the night of Friday, October 28th, will have three parts: the concert by Sonic Youth, the performance by Enrique Morente, and as the finishing touch, the tête-à-tête between the cantaor and the quintet. To that end, they have been getting ready for a week now with rehearsals in Paris. The artist from Granada will be doubly represented at this arts and music event, since it is the stage which has been chosen for the premiere of the documentary film ‘Enrique Morente sueña La Alhambra’ (‘Enrique Morente Dreams Up La Alhambra’), from which an album has already come out on the market. Also to appear at the festival, which is being held from October 24th to 29th, are groups such as Jet Lag and Matthew Herbert Big Band, among others.
