Flamenco and poetry converse in the
‘La música de los espejos’ Series at Suma Flamenca
2010. And it will no longer be at the Olivar de Castillejo,
but rather at the Complejo El Águila. But the essence will
go on being the same one set forth every year by José María
Velázquez-Gaztelu: a cluster of encounters between literary
figures and cantaores. In this fifth edition of the Madrilenian
festival, sitting face to face will be poet Benjamín Prado
and Huelva-born cantaora Argentina,
writer Clara Sánchez and cantaora Estrella Morente, writer
Almudena Grandes with cantaor Valderrama, and poet Javier Villán
with cantaora María Toledo. Writers such as Caballero-Bonald,
Félix Grande, Luis García Montero and Aute, and
artists like José Mercé, Miguel Poveda, Enrique
Morente and Marina Heredia have taken part in this series in previous
editions.
More concerts. This same week,
Suma Flamenca 2010 has also scheduled two performances at the
Institut Français: Axivil Aljamía with ‘Perfume
mudéjar’ (June 24th) and Paco del Pozo (June 25th).
And on Saturday, June 26th in towns in the region, it offers shows
by Gerardo
Núñez at the Plaza Mayor in Chinchón,
El Güito at the Teatro Bulevar in Torrelodones and Juan de
Juan with ‘Los sones negros’ at the Auditorio Teresa
Berganza in Villaviciosa de Odón.
