Flamenco and tap dance go hand-in-hand at the 2006 New World Flamenco Festival. After Juana Amaya raised the curtain, on 8th and 9th August the Barclay Theatre in Irvine (California, U.S.A.) offered a fusion project starring tap dancer Savion Glover, Californian bailaora Yaelisa and a made-to-measure group from Jerez featuring, among others, bailaor Andrés Peña, cantaores Luis Moneo and Manuel Malena, and guitarists Domingo Rubichi and Juan Manuel Moneo. To round off this fifth edition of the Californian festival, bailaora Rafaela Carrasco presents her show ‘Una mirada del flamenco’ from 11th to 13th August.
