Flamenco also
experiences Madrid’s White Night 2008. An entire
city on a sleepless night enjoying art in all of its expressions
for free at its most unique venues. Something like that will
occur in Madrid on September 13th, 2008. The Spanish capital
will be filled with theater, jazz, dancing, cinema, photography,
the circus... and also flamenco. Bailaora Eva
Yerbabuena and cantaor Miguel
Poveda will take part in the tribute to Pedro Almodóvar
at the Matadero, with the title ‘Canciones para Pedro.
Un homenaje a Pedro a través de su música’.
They share the gala with the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra
and with singer Concha Buika. At La Casa Encendida, flamenco
will show its most avant-garde side. At the stroke of midnight,
the show ‘Artomatico + Flamenco’ will take place
there, in which the electronic sounds of experimental musician
Artomatico unite with the percussions of Nacho Arimany and the
contemporary flamenco dancing of Rafael
Estévez and Nani Paños. Madrid’s White
Night is part of the European White Nights network, which also
includes Bucharest, La Valletta, Paris, Brussels, Rome and Riga.
