Paco
de Lucía bedazzles at Flamenco Festival New York 2007.
At a completely jam-packed Carnegie Hall, the Algeciras-born
maestro of flamenco guitar carried out a dazzling review of his
entire work on Saturday, February 10th, in the setting of the
festival organized annually by the World Music Institute in the
‘Big Apple’. Cantaoras Chonchi Heredia and Montse
Cortés, guitarist Niño Josele, percussionist Piraña
and harmonica player Antonio Serrano accompanied the musician.
The concert was part of a tour, set within the program of Flamenco
Festival USA 2007, which since late January has taken the artist
to cities such as Montreal and Toronto in Canada and San Francisco,
Los Angeles, Miami and Boston in the United States, among others.
The festival continues on Thursday, February 15th with the Gala
Bienal de Sevilla at the New York City Center, with performances
by bailaores Joaquín Grilo, Isabel Bayón, Fuensanta
la Moneta, Manuel Liñán, Olga Pericet and Marco
Flores.
