La
Niña de los Peines centers a congress in Seville.
The congress ‘La Niña de los Peines. Patrimonio
de Andalucía’ is to be held on November 25th and
26th, 2005 at Monasterio de Santa María de las Cuevas.
Throughout both days at the monastery, researchers, writers
and artists will discuss one of the top figures in cante history,
whose sound recordings were declared Property of Cultural Interest
by the Andalusia Junta. The grand finale of the congress will
be a tribute concert on the night of Saturday the 26th at Teatro
Central, with the scheduled performances of Esperanza Fernández,
La Macanita and Tina Pavón.
