Pele returns with the album ‘8
guitarras... y un piano’. Moraíto
Chico, José Antonio Rodríguez, Niño de
Pura, Miguel Ángel Cortés, Diego del Morao, Juan
Carlos Romero, Daniel Méndez and... Dorantes. They’re
the eight guitarists... and the pianist who accompany the Córdoba-born
cantaor on his new disc. The album is produced by Isidro Muñoz,
who has already left his mark recently on key flamenco discs
such as ‘Aire’ by José Mercé and ‘Samaruco’
by Duquende. The repertoire consists of nine songs, including
‘Alfonsina y el mar’, ‘Soleá del olvido’,
‘Amigo Vicente’ and ‘Lucía’.
The Córdoba-born artist hadn’t recorded his voice
in five years. The last time was in the face-off with Vicente
Amigo entitled ‘Canto’.
