Ramón de Algeciras and Paco de Lucía

A double album recovers music by flamenco guitarist Ramón de Algeciras. In early 2009, Paco de Lucía’s elder brother passed away, one of his maestros and the axis of his sextet. Eight months later, a necessary double album comes out which includes the recordings he did from 1967 to 1976. The disc contains examples of his toque accompanying cantaores such as Camarón, La Susi, Paco Toronjo, Chato de la Isla and Curro de Utrera, among others. Moreover, it also includes a face-off with Paco, the instrumental ‘Granada’, and with Niño Ricardo - whom he was a great admirer of -, together with the voices of La Sayago and Gabriel Moreno. In total, there are twenty-four songs depicting the tocaor personality of the other maestro from Algeciras and the cante of that time.
