Rubem
Dantas provides a glimpse of his upcoming album ‘Festejo’
at a concert in Madrid. Although the album’s
release date has yet to be confirmed, the Brazilian percussionist
wants to present it already. On November 26th at Joy Eslava
in Madrid, he’ll do a live performance of the contents
of what will be his first solo album, which joins flamenco to
other types of world music. He will be accompanied on stage
by musicians such as Antonio
Carmona, Antonio Serrano, Israel Sandoval, Irapoan Freire
and Pedro Ruy-Blas, among others. And the thing is that it’s
a ‘crowded’ record, with over thirty collaborators
as special as Paco de Lucía, Chick Corea, Jorge Pardo,
Joaquín Grilo and Chano Domínguez. He had already
offered an excerpt off his album at Festival Málaga en
Flamenco 2007, at the open-air stage of Playa del Palo.
