Manolo
Sanlúcar kicks
off Flamenco Viene del Sur 2008 in Seville. On Tuesday,
January 29th, 2008, the Cádiz-born guitarist opens the
now veteran series at the Teatro Central with the concert ‘El
alma compartida’. Accompanied by David Carmona on second
guitar, Carmen Grilo on cante and Poti on percussion, he is
scheduled to offer an anthological recital, a review of the
great scores pervading his work. ‘Maestranza’, ‘Oración’,
‘Carta a Doña Rosita’ and ‘La danza
de los pavos’ are some of the pieces included in the program
and which are part of “the expression and feeling”
that define Manolo Sanlúcar as one of the great Spanish
musicians of our time. Following this concert, every Tuesday
until May 20th, there is a date with flamenco at the theater
of the Sevillian Isla de la Cartuja, featuring artists such
as Rafaela Carrasco, Tomatito, Antonio el Pipa, Rocío
Molina and El Lebrijano, among many others.
