Sara Baras presents ‘Esencia’ in Spain and bids farewell to stages temporarily. The Cádiz-born bailaora has decided to come to a halt for personal reasons for a period of two years, as her office informs. But first, at several stages in Spain she presents ‘Esencia’, an anthological show which gathers a selection of pieces from the company’s nine works. The show was already presented in Paris as ‘À propos de Sara’ last December and in London as ‘The very best of Sara Baras’. The first stop will be in Madrid from March 23rd to April 11th, 2010 at the Teatro Häagen-Dazs Calderón. And she is still scheduled to perform at the Auditorio de Mallorca (April 17th and 18th) and at the Teatro Falla in Cádiz (April 21st to 25th) before taking the break. Sara Baras has had a successful solo career for eleven years, taking shows such as ‘Sueños’, ‘Sensaciones’, ‘Carmen’, ‘Juana la Loca’ and ‘Mariana Pineda’, among others, to top international stages.
