José
Mercé and El
Torta take Jerez cante to Festival Flamenco por Tarantos
2008. The lineup of the festival’s nineteenth
edition is headed on April 25th and 26th, respectively, by both
artists, two of the most personal voices of today’s cante.
Nor does the program forget its commitment to Almería,
which will be represented by cantaores Juan Gómez and
Cristo Heredia. The offer of recitals is completed with two
young female cante talents: Granada-born Marina
Heredia, re-affirming her important role in today’s
flamenco scene; and Huelva-born Argentina, taking her first
steps with her début album. The date is at Madrid’s
Colegio Mayor San Juan Evangelista.
