Tomatito wins the 2005 flamenco Grammy Latino for his album ‘Aguadulce’. The guitarist from Almería staved off competition from José Mercé’s ‘Confí de fuá’, Gerardo Núñez’s ‘Andando el tiempo’, Diego Carrasco’s ‘Mi ADN flamenco’ and Niña Pastori’s ‘No hay quinto malo’ - the other four nominees in category 28 of the awards, which goes to the best flamenco album. The winner of last year’s award, Paco de Lucía, was nominated this year for the best producer award, for La Tana’s ‘Tú, ven a mí’, but this year he’s come away with his hands empty. The Grammy Flamenco has previously been awarded to artists such as Chocolate, Vicente Amigo and Pepe de Lucía.
