Flamenco guitarist Vicente Amigo will be paid tribute at the 2009 La Unión Cante de las Minas Festival. The Murcia festival, which will be held this year from August 6th to 15th, will give its top award, the ‘Castillete de Oro’, to Vicente Amigo in its forty-ninth edition. The Córdoba-born musician, who is about to release a new album, won the festival’s guitar award in 1988. And precisely, the prestigious contest - which seeks new toque, cante and baile talents - premieres a new category: the ‘El Filón’ prize for instrumentalists. Registration is now open.
