The flamenco
musical ‘Wallada’ plays at Madrid's Teatro Nuevo
Apolo. The story of the last princess of the Umayyad
kingdom is told using a mixture of Andalusian symphonic rock
and flamenco, classical and Spanish dance in a production which
was premièred last year at the 2004 Festival de la Guitarra
de Córdoba. Paco
Mora is artistic director, choreographer and performer,
and the cast includes ballerinas Ana Arroyo, Lienz Chang and
Gema Morado, with choreographic input from Igor Yebra, stage
direction by José Icriera and live music by the group
Qúrtuba. The show, entitled “de las tres culturas”
will run from 4th March to 10th April 2005 at Teatro Nuevo Apolo
in Madrid.
