Juana Amaya pays tribute to Morón de la Frontera at the opening of the 2006 New World Flamenco Festival in California. The Seville-born bailaora started the ball rolling at the fifth edition of the event, held from 4th to 13th August in the American city of Irvine, with the new show: ‘Morón, a tiempo y a compás’. Accompanied by Luis Moneo, Enrique el Extremeño and El Galli on vocals, Juan del Gastor as guest artist on guitar and with her daughter Nazaret Reyes dancing, she offered a performance that the local press deemed “passionate”. The three performances by Juana Amaya on 4th, 5th and 6th August, will be followed at The Barclay Theatre by the production ‘Sin Fronteras’ on 8th and 9th August; and ‘Una mirada del flamenco’ by Seville-born bailaora Rafaela Carrasco's company on 11th, 12th and 13th August, as well as several parallel activities.
