Eva
Yerbabuena inaugurates the program of the 150th anniversary
of Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela. The Granada-born
bailaora, winner of the 2001 National Dance Prize, opens the
outstanding theater’s commemorative bill by offering performances
from September 13th to 24th with the absolute premiere of the
show ‘Huso de la memoria’ and the revival of ‘A
cuatro voces’. The lineup also includes the premiere of
three new choreographies by the Spanish National Ballet from
March 15th to 25th, 2007, done by Eva Yerbabuena herself, Ángel
Rojas and Carlos Rodríguez – directors of the New
Spanish Ballet – and Fernando Romero. As part of this
special season, brimming over with zarzuela, opera and dance,
an album is scheduled to be released on which today’s
Spanish voices will do their own versions of zarzuelas, among
them, Enrique Morente, Estrella Morente and Martirio.
