Yoko Komatsubara presents 2011 Pasión de Flamenco Tour |
Yoko Komatsubara joins Spanish and Japanese flamenco artists for the tour 'Passion of flamenco'. The company's new show will tour since September 21st, 2011, in eight Nippon cities and sixteen scheduled performances. The production, with support from Instituto Andaluz de Flamenco, gathers on stage artists such as Juan Ogalla, Andoitz Ruibal and Antonio Buendia on dance; David Palomar and Miguel de Badajoz on cante; and Juan Carlos Berlanga on guitar. The cast is completed by the twelve dancers of the ballet. Rondeña, malagueña, bulerías por soleá and alegrías, among other traditional styles, are included in the repertoire of a show that is complemented by an illustrated introductory lecture on flamenco taught by Palomar and Komatsubara. The veteran Nippon dancer, one of the leaders of flamenco in Japan, keeps alive her commitment to flamenco, after nearly half a century of career. In the 2010 Seville’s Flamenco Bienal, Ballet Yoko Komatsubara celebrated its fortieth anniversary with the premiere of the show ‘Hibiki’ at the Teatro de la Maestranza.
