Flamenco and jazz make common cause with percussionist

Antonio Galicia needs help to fight the serious illness he suffers. And the
musicians who have shared their professional career and personal path with the
Madrilenian percussionist have decided, of their own accord, to make their contribution.
Over forty flamenco and jazz musicians will gather in the Central Courtyard of
Cuartel del Conde Duque in the Spanish capital in this shared homage which will
take place on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003. Performing among many others will
be Enrique Morente, Jorge Pardo, Estrella Morente, Carmen Linares, Ketama... Tickets
to attend 'Va por ti, Gali' are on sale at offices of Caja de Cataluña and at
Telentrada (902 10 12 12 and www.telentrada.com).
From the flamenco world, scheduled to participate
in this festival are Cañizares, Carmen
Linares, Enrique Morente, Estrella Morente,
Gerardo Núñez, Guadiana, Israel Suárez Piraña, Joaquín Grilo, Antonio Carmona,
José Miguel Carmona and Juan Carmona of Ketama,
Juan José Suárez Paquete and Enrique Heredia Negri of La Barbería, Lola Greco,
Arcadio Marín, Montoyita and Ramón el Portugués.
On the bill from jazz flamenco, jazz and other
genres will be Jorge
Pardo, Carles Benavent, Tino di Geraldo, Rubem Dantas,
Martirio, Antonio Rivero, Antonio Serrano, Carlos Carli, Chema Uriarte, Domingo
Patricio, Guillermo McGill, Hilario Camacho, Horacio Icasto, Jesús Pardo, Luis
Escribano, Luis Pastor, Mariano Díaz, Miguel Ángel Chastang, Moi Natenzon, Moah
Shaye, Pedro Iturralde, Pedro Ruy Blas, Pedro Sarmiento, Tomás San Miguel and
