Israel
Galván once again breaks free from the limitations
of the theater. And to do so, he takes advantage of the
groundbreaking bareness of São Paulo’s 28th
Biennial, a showcase of modern art which is not exhibiting
works in this edition. On November 21st and 22nd at the
Praça Térreo, the Sevillian bailaor and choreographer
performs two ‘Solos’ without musical accompaniment.
This proposal is part of a broad program which also includes
relevant artists from the international scene such as performers
Marina Abramovic and Joan Jonas.

Following this “very personal reflection
on flamenco dancing without music and without any type of
ornamentation” at São Paulo’s Biennial,
Israel Galván tops off his stay in the Brazilian
city. On November 25th and 26th, he will offer two performances
of his show ‘La edad de oro’ at the CESC Vilamariana
Theater. He will be accompanied on stage by Fernando Terremoto
on cante and Alfredo Lagos on guitar. With a similar format
– but then with David Lagos as vocalist - he performed
last year at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, where he danced
amidst the sculptures by Richard Serra.
