Flamenco-world.com, November 2003

Flamenco-world.com cranks up the internationalization of 'jondo' art another notch with a pioneer project: the first online broadcast of a flamenco show. Without going to the box office, without traveling and without any cost, thousands of people anywhere on the globe will be able to simultaneously watch the premiere of 'Inmigración', the flamenco show of social denunciation supposing the début of the Ángeles Gabaldón Company. The link-up is at www.flamenco-world.com on Wednesday, November 19th, 2003 beginning at 9 p.m. (Spanish time).

Never before has a flamenco show been simultaneously premiered throughout the world. And Flamenco-world.com and Taller Flamenco are going to make it possible. The leading flamenco portal, which already receives over 1.5 million visits per month, is going to offer thousands of people anywhere on the globe the opportunity to 'attend' the presentation of 'Inmigración', the first show by the company of Sevillian bailaora Ángeles Gabaldón. The online broadcast will begin at 9 p.m. (Spanish time) on Wednesday, November 19th, 2003 at www.flamenco-world.com, at the same time as its premiere at Seville's Central Theater.

'Inmigración'

Flamenco-world.com, the bilingual online daily magazine and shop, bets on 'Inmigración' to initiate this novel service, for being an innovative, committed, high-quality show. The lead dancing by Ángeles Gabaldón, winner of the 2002 La Unión contest, joining that of her multiracial dance corps, music by guitarist Daniel Méndez and the Chekkara Orchestra of Tetuán, choreographies by Javier Latorre, audiovisuals by Yvan Schreck and script by Fernando González-Caballos, make up a unanimous cry in favor of creating social awareness of the problem of people trafficking. And Flamenco-world.com wants it to be heard beyond all borders.

With this pioneer project, Flamenco-world.com goes one step further in the universalization of flamenco, an aim which has driven it since it was founded seven years ago. And that implies giving all art lovers the opportunity to see and hear live flamenco, regardless of their location. The portal, which nearly seventy thousand people are subscribed to, already offers the free consultation of a database with nearly two hundred live video clips of the main cante, guitar, and dance figures, among them, Farruquito, Antonio Canales, Enrique Morente, Eva Yerbabuena, Sara Baras, Vicente Amigo, Diego el Cigala and Estrella Morente.
