Festival de Jerez modernizes
its official website and improves its contents
The event’s website is more accessible, includes
a second language and allows interactivity with its users
Flamenco-world.com, December 2009
Festival de Jerez now has a new
website on the Internet. The address is still the same,
www.festivaldejerez.es,
but it has changed not only its design, but also the layout
of its contents, at the same time as it has improved its
accessibility, a second language has been included and it
allows interactivity with users. From now on, the event’s
Internet website will try to respond to the demand for information
arising from Spanish and foreign flamenco enthusiasts, fruit
of the expectation that has grown edition after edition.
The website of the festival dedicated to
flamenco dancing and Spanish dance uses software in keeping
with the latest techniques in accessibility, besides applying
the latest technological advances complying with the standard
parameters on the Internet. Highlighting its advantages
is the easy update of its contents, as well as a better
search for them due to its integration into the municipal
website.
On going to the website, users will see
that the bill of the event’s fourteenth edition occupies
the website’s central section. In the left margin,
there is a menu consisting of the shows, courses, workshops,
activities and press area. Each of them offers a pop-out
menu with several options, which arranges the information
more clearly. Moreover, the design makes it possible to
interrelate the contents. Thus, netsurfers can see the dates
of a course and at the same time get the résumé
of the instructor who teaches it, for example. A link has
also been created which goes to the corresponding Internet
web page to buy tickets for the shows.
On the right side, a calendar highlights
the scheduled dates of Festival de Jerez in the months of
February and March. Placing the computer’s mouse over
each day, netsurfers have a clear reference of the program.
At the top, users from outside the city may make use of
the different street maps for tourists, contact the festival
organization or access the contents in English. Festival
de Jerez’s new website moreover includes a press area
and will soon develop access to photographs of artists,
as well as fans’ connection through forums.
As an official medium on the Internet,
Flamenco-world.com will facilitate netsurfers’ access
to the new official website, strengthening its collaboration
with the international coverage of information with the
page
it dedicates to Festival de Jerez 2010, with its general
news and special features sections, and with its specific
bulletin, which now has over 1,300 subscribers.
