After several delays, José
Mercé finally releases ‘Ruido’. The
seventeenth album in the Jerez-born cantaor’s career
goes along the same lines begun with ‘Del amanecer’,
“a type of flamenco which is for everyone”.
And he achieves it once again with production by Isidro
Muñoz, together with whom he has forged songs such
as the bulerías ‘Ruido’, ‘La llave’
and ‘Fe’, the tangos ‘De rima en rama’,
the alegrías ‘Pan y pico’, the rumba
‘Todos seremos’ and the soleá ‘Vengo
de donde no estuve’. And the repertoire is highlighted
by a tribute to poet Miguel Hernández, singing ‘Nana
de la cebolla’. He does so by taking back up Serrat’s
version and with the collaboration of Pasión Vega
and Carlos Sanlúcar. On this disc, Mercé is
accompanied by the guitars of Diego del Morao, Dani de Morón,
Juan Carlos Romero and Manuel Morao, plus percussions, basses,
piano and choruses.
