Seville once again has a weekly rendezvous with flamenco. The Cajasol Flamenco Thursdays 2010 hold a new edition from January 14th to December 16th. The program offers nearly twenty baile, cante and guitar shows. The bill opens with the show ‘Tan sólo flamenco’ by bailaora Isabel Bayón and closes twelve months later with the avant-garde proposal by Israel Galván. Between the two performances, diverse shows will be staged at the Sala Joaquín Turina which alternate acclaimed figures with up-and-coming talents, the classical and the ground-breaking. The bill is highlighted by the face-off between Rafael Estévez and Fuensanta la Moneta, and between Belén Maya and Olga Pericet. Emphasis also falls on female baile, by Adela Campallo, Concha Jareño, Manuela Ríos and veteran Milagros Mengíbar. Cante with old-time flavor comes from the hands of La Susi, La Macanita, Calixto Sánchez and El Pele. And concert guitar is split up between Miguel Ángel Cortés, Manuel de la Luz and José Antonio Rodríguez.
