Centro Cultural El Monte in Seville opens its doors to flamenco once again, with its yearly season ‘Jueves Flamencos’, an extensive program of Thursday evening concerts to be held at Sala Joaquín Turina between October and May. The 2004-2005 season features a total of twenty-one shows, with an encouraging presence of fresh upcoming flamenco talent. Such is the case of guitarist Daniel Méndez, bailaora Fuensanta la Moneta, pianist Sergio Monroy and cantaor José Valencia. Vocals, dance and guitar - all receive an ample share of the action, with bastions of the flamenco arts such as dancers Manuela Carrasco, María Pagés, Israel Galván and Javier Barón in baile flamenco; Paco Cepero and Pedro Sierra on guitar; the vocal chords of Carmen Linares, El Pele, Chocolate, Rancapino and Agujetas providing the cante; and Dorantes on piano, to name just a few. The Antonio Márquez Company kicks off the proceedings on 14th October 2004 and bailaor Israel Galván will round up the season on 19th May 2005.
