The 2005 Flamenco Thursday Series opens
with baile by Eva Yerbabuena

Recognized artists such as Manolo Sanlúcar, Joaquín Grilo, Gerardo Núñez and
Blanca del Rey, among others, will perform at Sala Joaquín Turina

Carlos Sánchez. Seville, September 2005

Flamenco returns to Seville's El Monte Cultural Center with an eclectic program. With the title ‘Flamenco Thursdays’, the El Monte Foundation has put together an extensive bill with some twenty shows which will be held between October 2005 and May 2006 at Sala Joaquín Turina in Seville. Standing out in the current edition is the presence of bailaora Eva Yerbabuena - who will open the series -, guitars by Manolo Sanlúcar and Gerardo Núñez, cante by Arcángel and Marina Heredia, and the group Son de la Frontera, among others.

As usual, the program tries to put cante, baile and toque on the same level. Besides the aforementioned, baile will also be represented by Joaquín Grilo, Isabel Bayón, Andrés Marín, Pepa Montes, Israel Galván, Carmen Ledesma, Mercedes Ruiz, the Farrucos and Juan Ogalla. The guitars will be completed by Rafael Riqueni and José Luis Rodríguez; while Segundo Falcón, Calixto Sánchez, Rubito de Pará, Aurora Vargas and Fernando Terremoto finish the list of cantaores. Bailaora Blanca del Rey will close the season on May 25th, 2006.
