The tour that Kiko Veneno and Pepe Begines went on between January and April 2002 in several places in the region of Andalusia has been molded on the album 'Gira Mundial'. The peculiarity of this work - which brings back the top songs by both singers, along with versions together of songs by Silvio, Compay Segundo and Bob Dylan - lies in its distribution: it is only sold at Kikoveneno.net.

'Gira Mundial' arose "like wild fruit, from a casual experiment in Los Palacios", for the inauguration of the theater in the town of the province of Seville. On realizing "the delight of all those who took part in the event", Kiko Veneno and Pepe Begines - vocalist of the group "No me pises que llevo chanclas" - decided to go on tour accompanied by the guitars of Andrés Herrera El Pájaro and Charlie Cepeda, and the percussion of Jimmy Glez.

The troupe ended up in Punta Paloma (Tarifa, Cádiz) where, "in front of about two hundred million ants and about fifteen people", the tour's repertoire was recorded. On the one hand were recorded "songs by each one, but in the other one's style" such as 'Bolillón', 'La Muchachita', 'Blues del Gorrión', 'Echo de Menos', 'Japón', 'Coge la Guitarra'... And on the other hand, "new creations arising after that get-together and in both's style", among them, versions of songs such as 'Chan Chan' by Compay Segundo, 'Vendo Bikini' by Dylan, 'La pared' by Bambino, and 'Ana no está', a tune which used to be performed by Silvio, a now deceased Seville-born rock singer to whom the work on this special collaboration is dedicated. Also on the list is a previously unreleased song by the trio formed by Veneno along with Rafael and Raimundo Amador titled 'El día que parió la yegua'.

The only way to get 'Gira Mundial' is via Kiko Veneno's official website, whose address is www.kikoveneno.net. In addition, the site offers audio and video on the contents of the album, additional information and a few pictures from the tour.
