The performance lasts ninety minutes, in
which time spectators will be able to discover the three
main keys to Lorca's thought: time, love and death. Mario
Maya, director, choreographer and author of the show's texts
and music, has bailaores and bailaoras of the likes of Juan
Andrés Maya, Diego Llori and Conchi Maya for the
main roles of ‘the horseman’, ‘the bitter
one’ and ‘the lover’.
Cantaora Rafaela Gómez plays ‘the
mother’. The music, which will be live, will be performed
by guitarists Miguel Ochando, Emilio Maya and Rafael Santiago
‘Habichuela’, and cantaores Juan Ángel
Tirado, Alfredo Tajada and María José Pérez.
Over the past few summers nearly one hundred
fifty thousand spectators have graced with their presence
this cultural event, which has become a classic within Granada
and Andalusia's summer activities, with works such as ‘Yerma’
in 2003 and ‘Los caminos de Lorca’ in 2004.
