José Mercé presents his anthological concert ‘Nuevo Amanecer’ at one of Spain’s classical music temples. Just as the Teatro Real has done on two occasions, the Auditorio Nacional de la Música also opens its doors to the flamenco cantaor. And they will be the ones of its main stage, the Sala Sinfónica, on October 13th at 7:30 p.m. Before undertaking his next record project, Mercé weighs things up live. The concert is a live compilation of his successful discography between ‘Del amanecer’ and ‘Ruido’, with a prelude of a bunch of traditional cantes. Martinetes, malagueñas, soleares, ‘Aire’, ‘La primavera’, ‘Al alba’, ‘Pendiente’ and ‘Lío’, among other songs, coexist in this recital in which he is accompanied by a band of musicians including guitarists Diego del Morao and Keko Baldomero, bass player Manolo Nieto, keyboard player José Ramón Mestre, trumpet player Guillermo Trujillo, percussionist Cesáreo Moreno ‘Güito’ and choruses by Marcelino Fernández, Antonio and Rafael de los Reyes, Milián Oneto and Elena Morales. With this recital, José Mercé opens the 2011/2012 season of the Andalucía Flamenca Series, which will continue with seven concerts at the Sala de Cámara until June.
