With the name of French culinary
delicacy - confit de foie (given an 'Andaluz' makeover)
- as the title, the new album by José
Mercé will shortly be on the shelves. On ‘Confí
de Fuá’ the vocalist from Jerez once again
entrusts the production and songwriting for the project
to Isidro Muñoz, following on from the success of
his previous offerings ‘Aire’, ‘Lío’
and ‘Del amanecer’. Recorded at La Kaleta studios
in Cadiz, the album features guitarists Moraíto
Chico and his son Diego del Morao, among other leading
musicians. The cantaor from Jerez premieres the album next
22nd and 29th November, 2004 at Teatro Lope de Vega in Madrid
(Spain).
According to the label, the artist “isn't
searching for continuity here, but rather is looking to
create an impression by making a giant leap forward in his
unique approach to flamenco.” There's a latin-soul
connection on the track ‘Saliva curativa’, where
Diego
Carrasco performs his duties as a rapper, a call for
peace in ‘Líbreme el hombre’, a version
of ‘Clandestino’, by internationally acclaimed
Spanish songwriter Manu Chao... All of this in the new project,
dubbed “more human, more familiar, music from the
streets”, which sees José Mercé rebrand
himself. The album goes on sale -according to the lebel-
on 8th November 2004 with a special limited edition ‘digi-pack’
featuring CD and DVD, which can be reserved in advance at
Flamenco-world.com.
