‘Morente sueña La Alhambra’ is already out on DVD. The documentary, directed by José Luis Sánchez-Montes, takes a tour of the Granada-born cantaor’s musical career, set in different corners of Granada’s monumental Alhambra and in the company of world-renowned musicians like Pat Metheny and Cheb Khaled. The flamenco guitar is taken care of by Tomatito and Juan Habichuela.

For the occasion, Enrique Morente starred in special encounters with internationally-renowned musicians of the likes of Pat Metheny, Khaled and Ute Lemper. The film also includes collaborations with dancers Israel Galván and Blanca Li, as well as cantaora Estrella Morente and guitarists Tomatito and Juan Habichuela.

The movie is to be released on DVD on December 4th, 2006, after being shown at cinemas and traveling to various international film festivals such as the Andalusian Cinema Week in the United States, Carmona Filmfest, Gerona Film Festival, Boston Latino International Film Festival, Canarias Mediafest and Huelva Latin American Film Festival, among others. Moreover, it already inspired the album of the same title, ‘Morente sueña La Alhambra’, released in September 2005 and nominated for a Latin Grammy.
