Traditional flamenco. The fourteenth edition of the 2006 Nîmes Flamenco Festival lays its stakes firmly on essence. The cante recital by Luis el Zambo for the opening and the two galas by Los Farruco to close, frame a bill to be held between the Odéon and Théâtre de Nîmes from January 23rd to 29th, 2006.

The fourteenth edition of this French festival also has in its lineup cante and guitar soloists such as Inés Bacán and Juan Diego, respectively. There will be room for two very peculiar shows, too. On the one hand, ‘La edad de oro’, in which bailaor Israel Galván - 2005 National Dance Prize winner -, guitarist Alfredo Lagos and cantaor Fernando Terremoto leave flamenco in its essence.

On the other hand, a unique experience called ‘Los Juncales’ will be premiered which gathers on stage four artists who make flamenco a daily experience: Diego Carrasco, Manuel Molina, Moraíto and Tomasito. Moreover, French artists will perform such as the Reflejo Flamenco Company and cantaor José la Negreta. And there will still be time left for master classes, lectures and the showing of the documentary film paying tribute to Pedro Bacán ‘Inés, hermana mía’.
