The 19th Nîmes Flamenco Festival pays tribute to the bailaor family Los Galván

Diego Carrasco, Chiquetete, José Valencia and Alfredo Lagos, plus the show ‘Mujeres’, are some of the proposals on the bill from January 15th to 25th, 2009

Flamenco-world.com, November 2008

For the first time, the Galván family gathers on stage. José Galván and Eugenia de los Reyes will dance with their children Israel and Pastora at the Thèâtre on the night of January 23rd. This encounter between tradition and the avant-garde which coexist in the same home will be one of the main attractions in the nineteenth edition of the Nîmes Flamenco Festival, which is to be held on several stages in the city in the south of France from January 15th to 25th, 2009. Voices like those of Chiquetete, José Valencia and Juan José Amador, guitars such as those of Alfredo Lagos and Antonio Rey, and the trio of bailaoras uniting in ‘Mujeres’ are some of the proposals in a program which also includes courses, lectures, encounters and photo exhibits.
