Córdoba is ready to weather another sleepless night and flamenco is “to blame”. The fourth edition of the White Night of Flamenco is already being organized: it will be on the night of June 18th to 19th, 2011. Following a two-week prelude with prior activities, the opening of the fourth edition will be taken care of by Eva Yerbabuena at the Plaza de las Tendillas. The young crossborder voices of Niña Pastori and India Martínez will join up on the macro stage of Avenida República Argentina. At the Plaza de la Corredera, rock groups Lagartija Nick and Los Planetas will pay tribute to Enrique Morente, who inaugurated the previous edition.

There will be live flamenco that night throughout the city of Córdoba. At the Teatro de la Axerquía, Miguel Poveda, who was present in the first edition, will perform together with the Orquesta de Córdoba. Another of the key points, the Plaza del Compás de San Francisco, will host
Diego Carrasco and Tomatito. The Patio de los Naranjos of the Mosque-Cathedral will bear witness to the flamenco guitar playing of José Antonio Rodríguez, while the Plaza del Museo Arqueológico will host singer-songwriter Javier Ruibal. For the time being, the shows to be held at the Triunfo de San Rafael and the Plaza del Cardenal Salazar are pending confirmation. Córdoba City Hall expects the attendance of 250,000 people.
