Farruquito, charged with manslaughter by negligence.
According to newspaper 'Diario de Sevilla', "the bailaor is
accused of vehicular manslaughter by negligence, failure to
stop and render aid, and providing false information" with reference
to a hit-and-run accident on September 30th 2003. According
to reports, Juan Manuel Fernández Montoya was driving a BMW
without license or insurance, when he hit a pedestrian on a
crossing, subsequently abandoning the scene. The man who was
hit died hours later at the Virgen del Rocío Hospital in Seville.
Originally, the dancer's fifteen-year-old brother was accused
of the crime, but police inquiries led to the conclusion that
the crimes were allegedly committed by Farruquito. The bailaor
was arrested on Saturday March 27th, and appeared in court the
following day. According to the Seville daily, he admitted his
responsibility in the case. He was released on 40.000 Euro bail.
