Since it was born twenty years
ago, the Festival Paris Quartier d’Été
proposes bringing together different world cultures in each
edition. And this summer it will be flamenco. Standing out
on the bill, which has room for disciplines such as dance,
drama, music and circus, are three flamenco dancing shows
scheduled from July 29th to August 1st at the Palais Royal
(Royal Palace) in the French capital. ‘Maestría’
by veteran bailaor José
Galván travels several decades towards the past
in search of now nearly extinct ways. ‘Vanguardia
jonda’, on the contrary, is a show by bailaor Andrés
Marín which marks future roads. And situated
along a very personal line, based on the close dialogue
between baile and music, is ‘ConCierto Gusto’
by bailaora Rafaela
Carrasco.
