Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent
and Rubem Dantas
accompany Chick Corea once again
The new U.S.
tour will run from January to March 2005
Flamenco-world.com, February 2005
In the wake of last year's successful
European tour, Chick Corea re-forms his band with saxophonist
Jorge
Pardo, bassist Carles Benavent, percussionist Rubem
Dantas and drummer Tom Brechtlein. The North American
pianist, together with the Touchstone Band, will make stops
in several U.S. cities between January and March 2005. To
round off the tour, the band returns to European soil with
a concert in Milan (Italy). With the three former members
of the legendary Paco de Lucía sextet, Chick Corea
will perform his Spanish music-influenced compositions taken
from the album ‘Touchstone’, and will continue
his explorations of flamenco. According to the pianist,
“with his new Touchstone band the music is played
with a passion, finesse and virtuosity that expands the
horizons of ethnic-influenced jazz to new levels”.
