The Castell de Peralada Festival
welcomes flamenco more and more firmly. And in fact, it
is going to be present in this edition in all of its forms:
cante, guitar and baile. In the program, which is to be
held from July 18th to August 16th at the castle in the
Catalan Ampurdán, appearing together with big names
of international music are Tomatito & Diego
el Cigala in a face-off they have entitled ‘40
kilos de arte’; bailaora María Pagés
with the show ‘Sevilla’; and the world premiere
of ‘Camarón,
30 años después. La leyenda del tiempo’,
a concert directed by Chicuelo in which, with the collaboration
of Duquende and Rafaela Carrasco, “a real classic
is revisited”. All of it converges with the recent
release of the album ‘Cante i Orquesta’ by Miguel
Poveda and Joan Albert Amargós, which was recorded
on this stage in the 2007 edition and which initiates Singulars
Peralada, the festival’s record collection. Serrat,
Noa, John Malkovich, Ainhoa Arteta and Ángel Corella,
among many others, also shape up the bill.
