Antonio el Pipa will perform in the Arteplage
de Murten accompanied by the singing of his aunt Juana la del Pipa, Luis Moneo
and Manuel Tañé, and the guitars of Pascual de Lorca and Juan Moneo.
Along with his group, the dancer will leave his mark of Jerez-style dance in the
lakeside building called "El instante y la eternidad" ['Eternity and
the moment'] built by the French architect Jean Nouvel.
The series devoted to Romany culture
is rounded out with the performance of the Hungarian groups Kalman Balogh which
combines traditional sounds with jazz, and Kakyi Hag, a group with vocals, bass,
percussion and dance, and the Russian group Bare Droma, seven-stringed guitar
and voices, all sharing the stage with the dancer from Jerez whose group will
close out the musical event.
Once in a generation, Switzerland organizes
a national exposition. Expo.02 is the second festival of this kind to be celebrated
in the country since 1964 when the first one took place in the city of Lausanne.
The 2002 festival has a budget of one billion euros to be spread out over an ambitious
program which includes, among other activities, concerts, theater, parades and
conferences.
