artists in the show ‘Poeta en Nueva York’
directed by dancer Blanca Li. The show - which combines

The collection of poems ‘Poeta
en Nueva York’ by Federico García Lorca inspires
the show which Blanca Li has directed and choreographed
for the annual series ‘Lorca y Granada’. And
although she plays on a mixture of styles, the Granada-born
dancer - who collaborated on the documentary ‘Morente
sueña La Alhambra’ - has given flamenco a
prevailing role. For the role of Lorca on stage, the current
director of the Centro Andaluz de Danza (Andalusian Dance
Center) has Sevillian bailaor Andrés
Marín. And cantaoras Carmen Linares and Encarnita
Anillo are going to alternatively take care of singing
a selection of verses from this emblematic work by Lorca.

‘Romancero gitano’ by Ballet
Flamenco de Andalucía, ‘’Diálogo
del Amargo’ by Mario Maya and ‘Los caminos
de Lorca’ by Pepa Gamboa are a few of the spectacles
preceding the new show in this series topping Granada’s
summer program.
