Miguel Poveda had notified us of it some time ago. When he released ‘Coplas del querer’ in 2009, he admitted that he didn’t feel that he had “made my flamenco album yet”. But he might be closer now. On his website, he has just announced the upcoming release of “a new more traditional flamenco album”. The title will be ‘ArteSano’ and, as deluxe ingredients, he will have the guitars of maestros Paco de Lucía and Manolo Sanlúcar. The key seems to lie in the toque, since the lineup of guitarists is completed by Chicuelo, Manuel Parrilla, Isidro Muñoz, Diego del Morao, José Quevedo ‘Bolita’, Juan Ramón Caro and Jesús Guerrero, among others. The first live performance of the album, which will be the eighth of his career, is scheduled for March 29th at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, closing the 2012 De Cajón! Flamenco Festival. But “the great presentation” will take place at the Teatro Real in Madrid on May 8th. According to the press release, a concert is also scheduled for July 21st at the Bullring in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), as part of a tour “around several cities in Spain throughout the year”.
