The ruffles are never the same,
nor are the polka dots ever in the same place. Flamenco
fashion is faithful to its tradition, but every year at
SIMOF, it demonstrates its ability to reinvent itself. The
sixteenth edition of the flamenco fashion show will be attended
by over thirty designers, between consolidated ones and
newcomers, who will display some twelve hundred new dresses
throughout twenty-seven parades, besides accessories and
shawls. Professional models of the likes of Nieves Álvarez
and Eva González will be joined by flamenco artists
as special collaborators such as cantaoras India
Martínez and Alicia Gil, as well as bailaoras
Asunción Pérez ‘Choni’ and Lalo
Tejada. The event is to take place January 28th to 31st,
2010 at Seville’s Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos
(Fibes).
